Welcome to the summer!!  It has been a long time since I have posted to my blog.  The children and I have completed our first year of home school, and we are enjoying the summer. Today I want to briefly talk about new life, and what it means to start over.  I am so excited about what God is doing in my life.  I have recently graduated college, and have plans to have another child.  Yes you have read it I am on the journey to motherhood again, and have decided to document everything through my blog. Before I expand my family there are a few things that I have to do.  I have to lose weight, change my eating habits, and make some lifestyle changes that will ensure a healthy pregnancy and baby.  So for the next six months I will be on a very happy and healthy journey. I could not seem to fall asleep last night, and I was constantly thinking of my mother, and how she exited this world.  There is constant reminder that she was here.  When I walk into her room I can still smell her perfume.  Her pillow still smells like the shampoo that she used to wash her hair.  Her clothes are still hanging in the closet, and her journal is still on the desk by the window. Mother, had a sweet spirit, and this day reminds me of her warmth and love.  We loved to sit and drink coffee on cold days like this, and she told me stories of her childhood with the family.  I had a dream that she opened her eyes, and she had a sweet smile on her face.  I have read scripture after scripture, and verse after verse that says how good God is.  Yes, the Lord is good in every way that I can think of. Well here we are at the week's ending, and another Friday that so  many of us rejoice over.  We look  forward to the day that we can kick up our feet and relax.  For me the weekend is an opportunity for me to reflect on what has happened during the week, and catch up on my writing. You know with the news of Ebola I can see that there are many people that are starting to panic, and that is a very bad situation.  The media has a way of making things seem more out of control than it may be.  Do not get me wrong.  It is good to stay informed, but it is not good to just focus on the bad things.  I was reading an article that said the Ebola virus is expected to infect 1.4 million people.  When you think about it too long, that can cause quite a stir in some people.  When I was younger this type of news would terrify me, and I would almost pass out from panic and worry.  It was an awful site to my mom. Greetings everyone I hope that God is blessing you with peace and prosperity.  you know I really love this time of year.  I love watching the seasons change.  The trees are displaying all kinds of colors.  This is the time of year where the kids, and I get a chance to decorate the yard with pumpkins, fall flowers, and other decor.  WE sit in the yard enjoying the cool breeze, and taking long walks in the park.  As we look at the month of October there is a newness of the month that is fast approaching.                                          Hello everyone I hope that you are enjoying the month of May.  Time is definitely moving, and it is not standing still.  I have been so busy with the children, and school until I have not had time to post like I want to.  I have just finished my final exams, and I passed with flying colors.  Being involved with the children has kept me busy.  I have some new ideas, and plan to take the blog to the next level.  I am looking to expand, and do a weekly audio blog.  God is giving me some awesome ideas, and I plan to carry through with what he has given to me.  I love to write!!  It is my first love, and I have been doing this for over twenty years. When I look at the world that we live in I have to ask myself some questions.  As a mother should I be strict on my children, or give them a little freedom?  As a Christian parent should I allow the kids to watch all cartoons?  Do certain celebrities have an impact on my children's lives?  These are just a few of the questions that I ask myself each day.  As a mom what should I do? With so much new technology children have a chance to access anything from any location.  I think that media plays an important role in what children are viewing and hearing.  With the click of a button they can see anything on the Internet.  One touch of the remote, and kids are looking at all kinds of music videos.  Is all this media really healthy for developing minds? A star shining in the night symbolizing the birth of the Messiah. We honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for he is the reason for the season. Last week I had one of the biggest scares in my life.  It was last Tuesday morning, and it was a typical day in our household.  I had awakened at 5:00 a.m., and prepared myself for the day.  The kids had been awakened at 6:00 a.m., and they were in their usual mood.  We went through our normal routine, and had fun during the morning of preparations.  I never end the morning routine without a word of prayer.  Like always we hug and kiss and say our goodbyes. After the children had gone I had a sense of peace from the morning prayer.  There was nothing unusual going on so I had continued with my normal routine.  At around 7:30 the neighbor was ringing the doorbell. She had her oldest daughter by her side, and her eyes were filled with tears.  She said " I am not trying to scare you, but a lady just called me, and reported that a man has our babies held hostage on the bus."  My jaw dropped in dismay , and I was scare...

If we trust in the Lord why do we worry?  God has promised in his word that he will do exactly what he says he will do.  In the mist of adversity I have found myself worrying about the final result.  I had to learn to trust God with all that I have.  In the book of Matthew 6:26-27 says "Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not much more valuable than them?  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" Because God has given us assurance through his word we have a guarantee that he will never leave nor forsake us.  With the economy spiraling out of control, many people are worrying about their financial future.   Many have stressed themselves out, because of the images of the world.  Thank God that he gives us his love.  Exodus 33:14 says "My presence will go with you and I will give you rest."  God is the creator, and he...

Summer is coming fast, and I have been searching for some healthy meals that will be easy to prepare.  It can heat up here in the south, and the kitchen is the last place that I want to be.  So I am preparing to do plenty of grilling. Another thing that I love doing is baking all of my desserts and snacks.  I have never been a  fan of snacks out of the store, and found that baking is better.  When I bake my own foods I can control the ingredients.  That means that I can control the sugar and salt content in my food.  I substitute sugar with a low calorie sweetener.  My desserts are very easy to prepare, and it can fit any budget.  The best thing is I plan to have the children in the kitchen to learn a few lessons about food preparation.  I want the children to learn to eat healthy, and learn about saving money.    I have become very concerned about how much sugar the kids are consuming, and have decided to adopt a heal...

It is 5:00 in the morning , and the alarm keeps ringing in my ear.  I have a whole list of chores, and work that I have to get done for the day.  I have piles of laundry that needs to be washed, and I have four children that has to be at school by seven.  I am backed up in my work, and have several deadlines that I have to meet.  The yard needs to be cut, and the bushes need trimming.  I have to go to the grocery store, and have dinner on the table by 4 pm.  Did I mention that I have to braid the girls hair, and take the car for maintenance.  This is the life that I live on a daily basis.  I am constantly on the go.  O I did not mention the kids have activities, and other things that is not related to school.  The life of a busy mom requires plenty of energy.  That is why I make it a priority to have some "Me Time".  Something as simple as a good hot bath to treating myself to a healthy lunch.   I always take t...

This week my children and I have donated over fifty pairs of shoes to charity.  Every time they do something wonderful I want everyone to know about it.  In the past I have stressed how much I love being a mommy.  Well that is still true I love my children so much!  God has definitely placed me in the right role in life.  I think that motherhood is one of the highest callings from God.  It is not the only role that I have, but it is the most fulfilling and rewarding.  I like being the mom that is a chaperone on all school trips.  I am the mommy that has to take kids to soccer practice and art lessons every day.  Oh yeah I am the mommy that has homemade cookies for all the kids in the neighborhood!! The Lord knows all about the issues that I face in my life.  He is aware of every ache and pain that I have endured through the years.  God has seen my thoughts before I made plans to utter a word.  God knows when I am getting ready to cry, and he has seen the moments where I was ready to give up. Nobody knows your journey, or the plans that the Lord has made for your life.  You and I can be in the same room for days, but we both have  different assignments.  Our visions are different, but we are both made by God.  He has perfect knowledge of man, and he knows all about what he is going to do for you.  The scripture says "O Lord You have searched me and known me.  You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all of my ways." Psalm 139:1-3. You do not have to feel like you are alone.  God has known you from the point of conception...

  For years I have struggled with my weight.  As a child I can remember being one of the biggest kids in my class.  I was very shy, introverted, and very vulnerable to ridicule and jokes.  There were days that I had been embarrassed to eat at school,and realized that we had nothing to eat at home.  There were also times that I would eat until I could not take another bite.  Other kids would often gawk at me, because I was morbidly obese.  They did not see that I was talented, nice, and had a lot of potential.  At that age I don not think that our minds had matured. I did not realize how precious I was to God, and I did not see my inner beauty.  I was overly concerned about having friends and fitting in with the crowd.  Like most young girls I had a want to be popular, and felt anxiety about not being able to belong to a certain crowd.  I was unaware of the good things that God had placed in me.  I ha d a child like mind, ...

  Part of being a believer is having faith.  Faith can be seen as having total trust or, confidence in God.  2 Corinthians 4:13 says "It is written: I have believed, therefore I have spoken with the same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak."   As part f my life as a believer I am required to have faith.  It would be a total contradiction to have faith, and doubt that the word that will deliver me.  Hebrews 11:6 says "And without faith it will be impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and rewards those that earnestly seek him."  The heart and mind of the believer must be focused on the Word of God.  It is through his word that we will find what we are seeking.  The believer is perceived to be the recipient of rewards by the amount of faith that an individual has.  Galatians 2:20 says "I have been crucified with Christ and no longer live but Christ lives in m...
