Staying Motivated During The Journey

Image
Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Okay I am two weeks into my plan, and everything is going great.  When I think of the first half of my weight loss journey, I think about all of the will power that I had in the beginning.  I think about how easy it was to encourage myself, and I think about all the optimism that I had in my mind, but there were days that I did not feel like going forward.  I mean I was not prepared for the days that I was not prepared for an obstacle.  There have been days that I did not wnat to work out.  I did not want to practice self dicipline, and i just wanted to eat the cookie in fridge.  How many times have you been standing on the scale, and you just felt like none of this is worth it?  Well, in my case there have been plenty of days that I would quit after two to three days of trying to bring change.  In the past I have procrastinated, and made the choice not to eat right, workout, or work to reach...

Be Not Be Deceived Find Truth for Yourself

Image
Today something heavy is laying on my spirit.  It seems as if it is almost troubling, and disturbing.  Normally there is a calm in me on a Sunday morning, but the atmosphere is deeply disturbed.  I had spent all of Saturday night perusing the internet, and reading material to catch up on world events.  I have watched several videos that had a message of end time prophecy, and realize that Christianity is heavily under attack.   There seems to be millions of religions that claim to be the right religion, and then there are the people that are currently spreading there agenda of no religious association.  My thought is how can the people not become confused, and be deceived by what they are hearing? Everybody knows that I am associated with Christianity, but know that I cannot force other people to believe.  I feel that a man/woman should study for themselves until the truth becomes relevant to them.  Nobody has brainwashed me into believing in Je...

I Will Not Hold On to a Defeated Mindset

Image
There is a scripture in the Bible that says "I look to the hills where my help comes from my help comes from the Lord."  In my eyes that scripture has so much meaning, and it is very close to my heart.  I can not tell you how many times that I have contemplated on this scripture, and it has spoken to my heart.  In this life I have had some storms that have spiraled out of control, yet I could always count on God to be a refuge in the time of those storms.  I have learned that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  He will not change no matter what the season is. I have also developed a mindset that exudes nothing but positive thoughts.  I have decided to make positive affirmations everyday that God blesses me with.  I have made up my mind that I will not live with a defeated mentality.  I believe that as a daughter of God, and  a believer I can be victorious in every situation.  1 Corinthians 15:57 says "But thanks be to ...

Through the Looking Glass

Image
My reflection  is sometimes a little fuzzy and I cannot figure out who I am.  I get a little tongue tied when people ask me about my identity.  I become a little afraid when I have to define who I am , and I cry when I become fearful.  Who am I  and what am I?  Who did God create me to be? Should I be all that I can be?, or should I be what the people want me to be.  I want to shout at the world, because I do not know who I am.  I have no clue when it comes to the will of God.  I feel like I have no purpose, and I feel like I have been created for nothing.  My heart is broken each time I hear the word purpose.  I have stammered when the subject has been presented to me.  Do have I worth in the eyes of God, or is there something that he has for me to do.  I feel a little confused about my life, and I just want to be me. The other day I was talking to a woman of God , and she seem to understand how I was feeling.  S...

You Cannot See it But You Know God Will Do It

Image
Hope is believing in the things that have not yet manifested.  It is trusting God for those things that you have need.  It is having faith, and telling that mountain to move.  Hope is believing God for the unseen things, yet you know that the blessing  is coming.  You can see the vision, and you have written it down.  You have spoken the words, and the words are in your mouth, heart, and your spirit. You have declared it in Jesus's name that all things are possible through the Lord Jesus Christ.  You have prepared yourself for the blessing.  Well my friends the scripture says "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."  By the supernatural power of God blessings are coming your way.  Keep your mind steadfast and stay focused on Jesus!  Trust, declare, confess, speak, and believe in what you have need of, or what you want God to do for you. In the book of John 20:27 "Stop doubting and believe"  In ...

Worldly or Godly Standards

Image
This week I will be talking about acceptance.  I have noticed that many young women want to serve God, and live by the standards of the world.  The fact is, God is calling us to live by a higher standard of life.  Society has glamorized certain lifestyles, and many young people feel like they should be included in it.  Most of them feel that being popular is better than having morals and values. Can we live by the world's standards, and still please God?  The Bible says in Romans 12:2 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will."  As Christians we should live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. We are made in the image of God, and we are representatives of our Father.  That means that everything we do is being reflected, and the world is looking at us.  We are examples to the world.  Matt...

Desiring to Make a Change

Image
For many years now I have been trying to reach a healthy weight.  I will confess that I have tried every diet known to man.  I have joined the gym numerous times in the past, with the intent to get the body that I have often dreamed of.   Some things that I have done have been successful, but other attempts have failed.  I will say that a lack of motivation has made it extremely difficult to stay on a diet, and I feel that it has been a mistake to be on one.  One day I had to examine myself,  and find out what the Bible had to say about self discipline.  It is a fact that I am the one that has to control my food intake.  I have to look in the mirror, and feel comfortable with my body.  At some point I knew I needed to make a change. Earlier this year I had a made up mind to change my life, and gain control of my  health.  Instead of being on the dieting yo yo, I have made some permanent lifestyle changes.  Th...

My Reflection

A Woman of God

Image
A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing in value She bring him good, and not harm all the days of her life She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands   bringing her food from afar she gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions to her female servants She considers a field and buys it out of her earning she plants a vineyard She sets about her work vigorously her arms are strong for her tasks She sees that her trading is profitable and her lamps do not go out at night In her hands   ands she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy When it snows she has no fear for her household for all of them are clothed in scarlet She makes coverings for her bed She is clothed in fine linen and purple She is like the ...

The Importance of Having Me Time

Image
It is 5:00 in the morning , and the alarm keeps ringing in my ear.  I have a whole list of chores, and work that I have to get done for the day.  I have piles of laundry that needs to be washed, and I have four children that has to be at school by seven.  I am backed up in my work, and have several deadlines that I have to meet.  The yard needs to be cut, and the bushes need trimming.  I have to go to the grocery store, and have dinner on the table by 4 pm.  Did I mention that I have to braid the girls hair, and take the car for maintenance.  This is the life that I live on a daily basis.  I am constantly on the go.  O I did not mention the kids have activities, and other things that is not related to school.  The life of a busy mom requires plenty of energy.  That is why I make it a priority to have some "Me Time".  Something as simple as a good hot bath to treating myself to a healthy lunch.   I always take t...

MY LIFE AFTER DIVORCE

Image
Okay I am single again, and a lot of things have changed,  I am the head of my household, the mother of four great children, and I have full control of all responsibilities.  I no longer have a covering, and I have felt a sense of loneliness without a partner.  I have often questioned if God could use me since my divorce.  I have always had a vision for ministry, and owning  my own business.  After my divorce I have been praying constantly asking the Lord to guide me through this phase of my life.  The process has been slow, and has taken much patience on my part.  I have been managing my home, and taking care of everything.  By the mercy and grace of God I am raising four beautiful children, and the Lord has been faithful in that area of my life.  He is guiding me on the journey of parenthood, and have blessed me to have a good group of kids.  (So far so good :)). As a single mother I have so many things that I have to do, and I...

DYING TO BE THIN AND TOO AFRAID TO BE THICK

Image
For years I have struggled with my weight.  As a child I can remember being one of the biggest kids in my class.  I was very shy, introverted, and very vulnerable to ridicule and jokes.  There were days that I had been embarrassed to eat at school, and realized that we had nothing to eat at home.  There were also times that I would eat until I could not take another bite.  Other kids would often gawk at me, because I was morbidly obese.  They did not see that I was talented, nice, and had a lot of potential.  At that age I don not think that our minds had matured. I did not realize how precious I was to God, and I did not see my inner beauty.  I was overly concerned about having friends and fitting in with the crowd.  Like most young girls I had a want to be popular, and felt anxiety about not being able to belong to a certain crowd.  I was unaware of the good things that God had placed in me.  I ha d a child like mind, ...
