Brokenness To Healing Part One

Image
Brokenness is defined as a separation of two or more pieces.  It can be sundered by divide, separation, or disertion. It can on relation to broken ho.es, a broken marriage, or something as simple as a broken promise. In simpler terms brokenness is being incomplete, or a state of disarray and disorder.  Many people see brokenness, and refer to it as just being broken before God, but I want to talk about emotional and mental brokenness. I hope that you will sit back and read my story.  Let me minister to your heart and spirit.  You may find that you or someone you know has suffered from being broken and hurt.  Psalms 34:18 says "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in the Spirit".  This is a series of lessons and posts on brokenness and healing. I want to deeply minister to the women that have been touched by the brokenness of divorce, mental emotional, and physical abuse.  Maybe you have dealt with abandonment an...

A Look Back

Image
I would like to take a moment to thank the Lord for such a beautiful week.  It has been an amazing journey.  This week was very productive, and I had a chance to get plenty of work done.  The kids and I had a chance to hang out, and watch television.  We had a long lesson on Ephesians 6:1-2, and a list of academic lessons.  They learned about the importance of prayer, and being kind to other people.  Every week I try to emphasis the importance of a good attitude, and having good manners. As I was sitting in my back yard I had a chance to just breathe in the fresh air.  Despite the fact that the south really heats up this time of year, I had a moment just to see all of the beauty that God created.  I am not talking about nothing that is man made, but the things that God created,  I had a chance to gaze at the trees, and look at the clouds in the sky.  I looked at the beautiful green grass, and realized how blessed I am. When I se...

Without A Moment's Notice

Image
Today my daughter had a loose tooth, and it was very painful for her to eat anything harder than pudding.  I had offered to pull the tooth, but she was too afraid to let me touch it.  She had an extreme fear that it was going to hurt too much.  After a few attempts to eat breakfast Keara became very frustrated.  A few hours had passed, and she was tired of struggling to eat. I said "Okay, can I look at your tooth now?  I will not hurt you."  In a moment's notice she kept her eyes on me, and I gently extracted  her loose tooth.    Sometimes we have to be like little children, and learn to let go and let God.  We must learn to trust God in every situation.  Even in a worst case scenarios we can trust God.  There are times that we may be very vulnerable to life, but God's love and grace keeps us in perfect peace. My mother's death has come as a shock, and the pain can sometimes feel unbearable.  I have chosen to trus...

It Is Never Too Late To Make A Change

Image
I believe that it is never to late to make a new start in life.  Even in the most difficult situations you can pick yourself up, and start moving again.  It is amazing after a storm, like a tornado some people still have the courage to rebuild everything that they lost in the storm.  In my case after my divorce I had to literally pick up the pieces, and start my life over.  In the beginning it was very overwhelming, because I had four small children that were depending on me to take care of them.  We all know that storms can be very devastating, but when you know that you are a survivor, you feel an overflow of blessings.  The challenges that I have had in my life has helped me realize how strong  I am, or how strong that I have become.  I believe that life's challenges prepare you for a blessing, or can make you better and stronger. I am a single woman of God raising four kids on my own.  I wear many hats, and I know that I am sust...

When There Seems to Be No Way Out

Image
I know that there are times in your life that you simply don't know what to do.  You constantly look for ways to ease the pain that you are feeling.  You forgot that today would have been your 15th anniversary, but you divorced several years ago.  Friends and family do not seem to understand why you have not remarried, or at least dated a little.  You want to get out and mingle, but you are terrified of loving someone again, in fear that he/she may hurt you.  The children insist that you get out of the house to go watch a movie, but you are consumed with the idea that you have to take care of them 24/7.  It is hard for you to let go of the idea that the kids are getting older, and you can relax a little bit.  It is around nine in the morning, and you have been contemplating about your life,  you have examined every inch of yourself, and every aspect of yourself.  You have looked up and down for a solution, and have felt the anxiety of wha...

A Deeper Look

Image
This is a journal of my daily life as a single mother, and the things that has caused some real challenges for me.   I have learned that real love is sacrificial, and it endures to the end.   After the separation of my family I am learning how deep love is.   Just months after my relationship ended my son was diagnosed with autism.   It was in the spring of 2008 when I had received the news.   I know that my son’s diagnosis was not a death sentence, but this was a very difficult time for me as a parent.   How could a single mother of four children take care of a special needs child?     I suddenly found myself becoming depressed.   I did not have a support system, and I felt the stress deep down in my body and spirit.   The only one that could help me out of this was God. I know I had to be strong for my children.   I was all that they had at this point.   The Bible says “Come to me, all you wh...

MY LIFE AFTER DIVORCE

Image
Okay I am single again, and a lot of things have changed,  I am the head of my household, the mother of four great children, and I have full control of all responsibilities.  I no longer have a covering, and I have felt a sense of loneliness without a partner.  I have often questioned if God could use me since my divorce.  I have always had a vision for ministry, and owning  my own business.  After my divorce I have been praying constantly asking the Lord to guide me through this phase of my life.  The process has been slow, and has taken much patience on my part.  I have been managing my home, and taking care of everything.  By the mercy and grace of God I am raising four beautiful children, and the Lord has been faithful in that area of my life.  He is guiding me on the journey of parenthood, and have blessed me to have a good group of kids.  (So far so good :)). As a single mother I have so many things that I have to do, and I...

Sometimes

Image
I was so close That I could reach out and touch it Suddenly It slipped from my hands I almost claimed the biggest blessing But somehow I lost it My journey seems long Some nights are long Days drift by slowly This is where life really makes demands Somedays I  do not know Whether I am coming or going Petrified by lonliness Unable to move Unable to understand Why I feel sad Sometimes it takes strength to move a mountain Sometimes I look around to find myself thinking again Sometimes I cry Sometimes I get angry Sometimes I feel like running away Sometimes I need a shoulder to lean on Until God lifts me up Out of the pits of life Sometimes it is okay to be human Sometimes it is okay to be me and express who I am Thank God that he loves me unconditionally Sometimes it is okay to Praise him For all the things that he has done   © Amanda Matthews     Psalm 119:105...

Everything That You Need

Image
Karlisha was a very intelligent young woman.  She had everything that she wanted in the world.  She had a loving husband, two beautiful children, and what some would call a dream job.  The *Moore family had security in their finances, and did not worry about having a secure future.  All bills had always been paid on time, and they had taken a family vacation every year.  Karlisha had always taken the time to take care of her body.  She was going to be thirty five soon, and felt her biological clock was ticking.  *Sam was very supportive of his wife.  He thought that she was a great mother, and loved her with all of his heart.  They had talked about having more children , but did not want to rush the idea.  From time to time Karlisha would attend her local church, and had difficulty getting Sam to go.  You see Sam did not believe in one deity, and had no desire to attend church.  He had felt that he was not missing anything, and...

Fallen Angel

Image
One night I was sitting on the steps of my house I was in deep thought The dog went inside his house for the night I closed my eyes to feel the breeze Summers are very hot and dry The moon was shining very bright unaware of what was happening Something crashed int he bushes I had jumped up and proceeded To see what it was My dog came running Only to run back inside his house I had shaken off any fear That had encumbered me I had found a few feathers on the ground The size of the feathers amazed me I had a desire to run but curiosity loomed over me I had noticed a wing of some kind The wing span was amazingly long My feet turned before I did When the wing had started to flap I ran to the house I could hear my dog whimper I had looked back to see what was in the yard I looked out of the window I had noticed a man standing there He was looking back at me My heart started to race with fear I could not tell who he was I was hungry...
