I Am Not On A Diet But I Do Have A Plan

Image
This year I have made a pact with myself that I will finally lose the weight that I  have been trying to drop for the last few years.  About two years ago I had started a weight loss journey where I had lost aprroximately 85 pounds.  Since that point I have been up and down on the scale.  I have still maintained an exercise routine where I walk, and do strength training, but there is something left to be desired. Lately I have not been ssatisfied with my weight.  Do not get me wrong I have made peace with myself, and I love the woman in the mirror, but... I still see a need to change for the better.  Last week I think I did research on several diets, and I have looked at the latest forms of excersise.  I will admit that I am actually excited about changing my life. Isaiah 43:19 says "See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  I am making a way in the wilderness and streams i the wasteland."  Sometimes i...

How Lack Can Turn Into Favor

Yesterday I had started a series that has been talking about the barreness of the womb.  In fact I shared a story about Sarah, and how she had dealt with infertility, and being a barren woman. Just to recap on what has been written.  To be barren means to be infertile. unfruitful, or desolate.  In this case we are talking about barreness, or unable to have children.  The story of Sarah has really touched my heart, as I was one that was once barren, but God has sense opened my womb, and blessed me with four children. Today I would like to continue our topic, and touch on the story of Hannah. I was so inspired by the stories of this woman that my first daughter has the name of  Hannah.  If you remember the story of Hannah, you know that her story is very unique.  She was the wife of a man named Elkanah, and she had become the mother of Samuel.  In Samuel 1 where the story of Hannah begins, you can see why her story is so unique.  Jus...

The Barren Shall be FRUITFUL and Multiply

Today I would like to minister to the women that have been yearning for a child.  I want to share some of my journey into  motherhood, and what the scriptures say about some of the women in the Bible that was in direct contact with the Creator when they had given birth to their miracle babies. To be barren means to be unproductive, infertile, unfruitful, and desolate.  In the Bible there were several woman that had to deal with being barren, but today I will talk about three.  At a time in theese women's lives God had chosen to close the wombs of these women.  Again their wombs has been considred to be desolate, and very infertile.  These women of the Bible suffered from infertility. Back in these days there was no such thing as fertility treatments, and there were no such things as IVF, and egg transfers.  In the case of Sarah she is one of the first women that had a surrogate to carry a child for her.  Unlike women today the women in the Bib...

Brokenness To Healing Part One

Image
Brokenness is defined as a separation of two or more pieces.  It can be sundered by divide, separation, or disertion. It can on relation to broken ho.es, a broken marriage, or something as simple as a broken promise. In simpler terms brokenness is being incomplete, or a state of disarray and disorder.  Many people see brokenness, and refer to it as just being broken before God, but I want to talk about emotional and mental brokenness. I hope that you will sit back and read my story.  Let me minister to your heart and spirit.  You may find that you or someone you know has suffered from being broken and hurt.  Psalms 34:18 says "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in the Spirit".  This is a series of lessons and posts on brokenness and healing. I want to deeply minister to the women that have been touched by the brokenness of divorce, mental emotional, and physical abuse.  Maybe you have dealt with abandonment an...

A Look Back

Image
I would like to take a moment to thank the Lord for such a beautiful week.  It has been an amazing journey.  This week was very productive, and I had a chance to get plenty of work done.  The kids and I had a chance to hang out, and watch television.  We had a long lesson on Ephesians 6:1-2, and a list of academic lessons.  They learned about the importance of prayer, and being kind to other people.  Every week I try to emphasis the importance of a good attitude, and having good manners. As I was sitting in my back yard I had a chance to just breathe in the fresh air.  Despite the fact that the south really heats up this time of year, I had a moment just to see all of the beauty that God created.  I am not talking about nothing that is man made, but the things that God created,  I had a chance to gaze at the trees, and look at the clouds in the sky.  I looked at the beautiful green grass, and realized how blessed I am. When I se...

I Will Not Hold On to a Defeated Mindset

Image
There is a scripture in the Bible that says "I look to the hills where my help comes from my help comes from the Lord."  In my eyes that scripture has so much meaning, and it is very close to my heart.  I can not tell you how many times that I have contemplated on this scripture, and it has spoken to my heart.  In this life I have had some storms that have spiraled out of control, yet I could always count on God to be a refuge in the time of those storms.  I have learned that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  He will not change no matter what the season is. I have also developed a mindset that exudes nothing but positive thoughts.  I have decided to make positive affirmations everyday that God blesses me with.  I have made up my mind that I will not live with a defeated mentality.  I believe that as a daughter of God, and  a believer I can be victorious in every situation.  1 Corinthians 15:57 says "But thanks be to ...

Through the Looking Glass

Image
My reflection  is sometimes a little fuzzy and I cannot figure out who I am.  I get a little tongue tied when people ask me about my identity.  I become a little afraid when I have to define who I am , and I cry when I become fearful.  Who am I  and what am I?  Who did God create me to be? Should I be all that I can be?, or should I be what the people want me to be.  I want to shout at the world, because I do not know who I am.  I have no clue when it comes to the will of God.  I feel like I have no purpose, and I feel like I have been created for nothing.  My heart is broken each time I hear the word purpose.  I have stammered when the subject has been presented to me.  Do have I worth in the eyes of God, or is there something that he has for me to do.  I feel a little confused about my life, and I just want to be me. The other day I was talking to a woman of God , and she seem to understand how I was feeling.  S...

Many Blessings

This morning I sing, because I have many blessings.  Sometimes we tend to overlook the small things that God has done.  We can sometimes take for granted the very things that other people may be lacking.  My many blessings include my everyday needs. I may not have a mansion, but I have a roof over my head.  I may not drive a Bentley, but I have a vehicle to get around in.  I may not wear designer labels, but I have clothes on my back.  I may not eat at five star  restaurants   but there is food on the table.  I may not be what society says is beautiful, but I am made in the image of my Father.  I may not be where I need to be, but I thank God I am not where I used to be. I have health, strength, my beautiful babies, and family.  I have my life, opportunities, dreams, and most important above all I have my heavenly Father.  Abba Father God I love you and thank you for my many blessings.

Keep Going Through The Storm

Okay, I have started this new book series that I think will be a real blessing to many people, and I have all the ideas in place.  I have written the first draft, and have decided to write at least five pages a day until it is complete.  With the school year almost in completion I am thinking about what the summer is going to bring.  During this time we are looking at camp, sports, and maybe a vacation. The children are trying to adjust to all the new changes that we had to deal with over the last month.  With the death of my mother we are trying to get back on track.  I for one am trying to get back to work, and get everything organized.  I had to take some time off from writing to make sure that the children, and I were okay with all that was going on.  There is nothing in this life that can prepare you for when a loved one departs this life, but for the most part God has been good to us. Now it is time to get to what I do best.  Inspiration...

Peace Be Still

Image
I could not seem to fall asleep last night, and I was constantly thinking of my mother, and how she exited this world.  There is constant reminder that she was here.  When I walk into her room I can still smell her perfume.  Her pillow still smells like the shampoo that she used to wash her hair.  Her clothes are still hanging in the closet, and her journal is still on the desk by the window. Mother, had a sweet spirit, and this day reminds me of her warmth and love.  We loved to sit and drink coffee on cold days like this, and she told me stories of her childhood with the family.  I had a dream that she opened her eyes, and she had a sweet smile on her face.  I have read scripture after scripture, and verse after verse that says how good God is.  Yes, the Lord is good in every way that I can think of. God's beauty is evident even in the event of death.  He comforts us, and he leads us to a place of peace.  We can trust God in all th...
