Be Not Be Deceived Find Truth for Yourself

Image
Today something heavy is laying on my spirit.  It seems as if it is almost troubling, and disturbing.  Normally there is a calm in me on a Sunday morning, but the atmosphere is deeply disturbed.  I had spent all of Saturday night perusing the internet, and reading material to catch up on world events.  I have watched several videos that had a message of end time prophecy, and realize that Christianity is heavily under attack.   There seems to be millions of religions that claim to be the right religion, and then there are the people that are currently spreading there agenda of no religious association.  My thought is how can the people not become confused, and be deceived by what they are hearing? Everybody knows that I am associated with Christianity, but know that I cannot force other people to believe.  I feel that a man/woman should study for themselves until the truth becomes relevant to them.  Nobody has brainwashed me into believing in Je...

Choices and Christian Motherhood

When I look at the world that we live in I have to ask myself some questions.  As a mother should I be strict on my children, or give them a little freedom?  As a Christian parent should I allow the kids to watch all cartoons?  Do certain celebrities have an impact on my children's lives?  These are just a few of the questions that I ask myself each day.  As a mom what should I do? With so much new technology children have a chance to access anything from any location.  I think that media plays an important role in what children are viewing and hearing.  With the click of a button they can see anything on the Internet.  One touch of the remote, and kids are looking at all kinds of music videos.  Is all this media really healthy for developing minds? The other day my daughter was watching a music video of a very famous singer.  She looked at me, and said she wanted to be just like her.  Immediately I asked her what she liked...

Worldly or Godly Standards

Image
This week I will be talking about acceptance.  I have noticed that many young women want to serve God, and live by the standards of the world.  The fact is, God is calling us to live by a higher standard of life.  Society has glamorized certain lifestyles, and many young people feel like they should be included in it.  Most of them feel that being popular is better than having morals and values. Can we live by the world's standards, and still please God?  The Bible says in Romans 12:2 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will."  As Christians we should live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. We are made in the image of God, and we are representatives of our Father.  That means that everything we do is being reflected, and the world is looking at us.  We are examples to the world.  Matt...

My Reflection

Image
My reflection  is sometimes a little fuzzy and I cannot figure out who I am.  I get a little tongue tied when people ask me about my identity.  I become a little afraid when I have to define who I am , and I cry when I become fearful.  Who am I  and what am I?  Who did God create me to be? Should I be all that I can be?, or should I be what the people want me to be.  I want to shout at the world, because I do not know who I am.  I have no clue when it comes to the will of God.  I feel like I have no purpose, and I feel like I have been created for nothing.  My heart is broken each time I hear the word purpose.  I have stammered when the subject has been presented to me.  Do have I worth in the eyes of God, or is there something that he has for me to do.  I feel a little confused about my life, and I just want to be me.  The other day I was talking to a woman of God , and she seem to understand how I was feeling....

Training Children in The Lord

Image
I am a firm believer that children should be taught in the way that they shall go.  I teach my children based on the principles of Proverbs 22:6 is says "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not part from it."  Each parent is different, but the most important factor is raising children effectively.  As a mom I train my girls to cook, clean, sew, and iron.  Well some may say that is a little old fashioned, but they are women in training.  One day they will have a family of their own, and they will need to know the basics of housekeeping.  My sons are learning the same lessons, but in a different perspective.  All parents have a set of values, and beliefs that they want to instill in their children.  My beliefs are in close relation to the Bible.  My children  are being trained, and prepared for life.  I thank God that he has bestowed this blessing on me.  In the near future I will ha...

A Home For A Child

Image
Gina* is a little twelve year old girl with a big smile. She loves to play sports, and she hopes to be an actress some day. Like most little girls Gina wishes she had a family that loved her. Born to a mother that was addicted to drugs this child is lucky to be alive. Most of her young life has been a living hell. I am quite fond of Gina, because she is so full of life. She exudes confidence ,and the zeal to live. I have chosen to write about this child, because she is an inspiration to me. When I look into her eyes I can see a hint of misery. It has to take a lot of strength to smile when you are sad. The true feelings that she may be repressing, will be the same feelings that she will have to face in the future. Many people want to ignore that children are hurting, suffering, and they are dying. How many more children will die due to neglect and lack? For a brief point in time I had to stop our conversation. The heaviness was too much for me to handle. I thought bac...

God's Perfect Timing

It is so important that we identify with God ,and what he wants for our lives. Doing the will of God is the most important thing in my life. To know that I have a purpose has given life more meaning. I know that God has me here for a reason. That reason is His divine purpose. God did not design us just to exist on the earth. When he formed me in my mother's womb he had a specific plan in mind. God has a time for everything. We all know that life can be short, and we should place value on every second. I am ready to do all that God has called me to do. There is a time and a place for everything. God has only given us one life. It is vital that we not waste our time that we have here on earth. I will seek the kingdom of God until I have done everything that he has planned for me. Until next time may the Lord bless you with peace and prosperity. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens a time to be born and a time to die ...

Children Are Blessings

Image
Children are blessings from God I thank the Lord every day For letting my little angels Come down this way They fill my heart with joy Each time they smile God I thank you for each one They all have different personalities And they all do different things Nothing can compare to the joy they will bring I am more than happy to be a mother One of the greatest joys in my life I am glad that God has chosen me for this assignment I can not imagine my life Without my kids!!           "Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from Him.  Like arrows in the hand of the warrior are children born in one's youth.  Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.  They will not be put to shame.  When they contend with their opponents in court."  Psalm127:3-5 NIV   I believe that children are gifts from God.  I am glad to be called into the ministry of youth evangelism.  In ...
