Real Love

Image
More Than a Feeling In a world where the word love is used so casually, it's easy to mistake attraction, convenience, or temporary emotions for something much deeper. Real love isn't just about butterflies, grand gestures, or saying the right words. It is revealed through consistent actions, sacrifice, patience, and commitment. Real love chooses kindness even when it's difficult. It listens before it speaks. It forgives without keeping score and gives grace without expecting perfection. Love doesn't manipulate, control, or diminish another person. Instead, it encourages growth, celebrates victories, and offers support through life's hardest moments. We often search for love in others while forgetting that healthy love begins within ourselves. When we recognize our own worth, we become less likely to settle for relationships that are built on fear, insecurity, or unhealthy dependence. Self-respect creates the foundation for giving and receiving genuine love. Re...

Choose To Forgive

Image
they do." (Luke 23:34) Jesus demonstrated that forgiveness is rooted in love, mercy, and obedience to God—not in the actions of those who hurt us. His example reminds us that forgiveness is possible even in the midst of deep pain. Practical Steps Toward Forgiveness If you're struggling to forgive, consider these steps: Acknowledge your pain honestly. Pray and ask God for strength. Release the desire for revenge. Set healthy boundaries where needed. Continue choosing forgiveness whenever old hurts resurface. Surround yourself with supportive, faith-filled people who encourage your healing. Remember, forgiveness doesn't erase the past, but it does change the future. The Blessing of Letting Go When we forgive, we make room for God's peace to fill the places where bitterness once lived. We begin to experience emotional freedom, healthier relationships, renewed hope, and a deeper understanding of God's grace. Forgiveness allows us to stop reliving yesterday's pai...

The Need

Image
As a writer I sometimes write by feeling.  I write a out things that can affect people day to day.   This week I watched a mother lay her child to rest.  In fact I saw two mothers put their babies to rest.   A one year old baby lost his life to gun violence.   The mother helpless had to watch her child die at the hands of  the police.   His little body lay there restless on the pavement.   As a parent I couldn't imagine her pain, or the grief that she was feeling.  Another child dies at the tender age of 18.    He was just getting ready to face the world.   He was ready for college, but he never got the chance to make it.  I couldn't stand to look at his mom.  The pain on her face was too much to bear. Both of these children were young black boys.   Young brothers that had to taste the jaws of death at an early age.  They were not sick.  They had no illness....

Outcome to Overcome

It says that life and death is in the power of the tongue, therefore we should watch the words that we speak.  What we É“ind on earth is what we bind in heaven.  Sometimes we can curse with death by speaking unkind words.  The enemy wants us to lie to ourselves,  and others to prove God wrong,  or make him out to be a liar.   GOD is not like man that HE will lie.  We live in a world where GOD has been deleted,  or the idea of GOD has become false ideology.  It is hurtful that a majority of the world has take made the name of Jesus, a d created a laughing stock of what many hold dear and sacred.  Yet the world want us to adopt new age religion, and traditions that may go against what we belive our hearts are wrong.    There is no contradiction, and you can believe what you want  but I believe in Jesus.   I believe the Son  of nan died on the cross for my sins.  There is salvation,  and the f...

Never Lose Your Faith

Image
For as long as I could remember I have never given up on God.   I have had many hills that I have had to climb, and many rivers to cross along my journey.  I am blessed to say that the Lord has personally granted me to overcome every obstacle that has come in my life.   There have been times that I wanted to give up.  There have been days that I have been broken into a thousand pieces.   People have tried to manipulate me into believing that I was the problem.  Along the way I have learned to look on the bright side of things.  I have always believed that God has special plans when we are downtrodden.  It's not a coincidence that we go through trials, a d the tribulations of life.   I am not so quick to blame the enemy all the time.  Some things are just the trials of life.  Some things we have control over,  but we have all control over the way we respond to our circumstances.   Okay you may...

The Art of Love

Learning to Love Others Well Loving others sounds simple. We hear it in songs, read it in books, and see it stitched into quotes on social media. But in real life—where people are messy, wounded, different, and sometimes difficult—loving others can feel complicated. True love isn’t just a feeling; it’s a practice. It’s something we choose, learn, and grow into over time. Love Begins With Seeing To love someone well, we must first see them. Not the version we want them to be, not the role they play in our lives, but who they truly are. This means listening without planning a response, noticing what goes unspoken, and honoring their experiences even when we don’t fully understand them. Being seen is one of the deepest human needs—and offering that kind of attention is a powerful act of love. Love Requires Patience People move at different speeds. They heal differently, communicate differently, and carry different fears. Loving others means allowing room for that. Patience is ...

Minty Moment with Prayer

A Minty Moment with Prayer Prayer is like a breath of fresh air for your soul. Just as mint refreshes your mouth, prayer renews your heart. You don’t need fancy words or a perfect setting—just a willing spirit. Whether whispered in the morning, shouted in the car, or thought in the quiet of your mind, prayer is a way to connect with something greater. It’s not about getting everything you want; it’s about growing closer to the One who already knows what you need. When you're overwhelmed, let prayer be your calm. When you're grateful, let prayer be your song. And when you're unsure, let prayer be your compass. So take a deep breath. Exhale the noise. Inhale the peace. And pray—fresh and true, like mint on your tongue.  Until next time may God richly bless you.
