Returning To the Original Plan

Hear the Word of the Lord O you people of Israel!  The Lord has charges against you saying:  There is no faithfulness, no kindness, no knowledge of God in your land.   You make vows to break them; you kill and steal, and commit adultery.  There is violence everywhere one murder after the other.  That is why your land is mourning, and everyone is wasting away.  Even the wild animals, the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea are disappearing.  Don’t your finger at someone else and try to pass the blame!  My complaint, you priests is with you.  So you stumble in broad daylight, and your false prophets will fall with you in the night.  And I will destroy Israel your mother.  My people are being destroyed, because they don’t know me.  Since you priests refuse to know me I refuse to recognize that you are my priests.  Since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will forget your children.”  (Hosea 4:1-6) NLT

We can look at this message from the book of Hosea, and apply it to our time today.  The world has abandoned the laws of God, and we are literally living in total chaos.  Everywhere on earth there is a path of destruction that is leading straight to hell.  The crime rate in our cities has reached all-time highs, and there is overcrowding in our jails.  There have been reports of birds falling out of the air, and fish have been washing up on shores and lakes.  Many have turned from the laws of God, and are not teaching future generations the importance of knowing the living God.  I believe that schools are becoming destructive, because they have taken prayer out of the system.  How can Christian children express their love for God if they are not allowed to pray?  Do they really have freedom of religion?  How are our children viewing the world around them?  There has to be a change before the world is destroyed by their own hands.

During this time in the Old Testament the children of Israel were being disobedient to the laws of God.  Here in our day many are being deceived, and have forgotten what God has said.  Hosea 4:2 says “There is no faithfulness, no kindness, no knowledge of God in your land.”  Many have given themselves over to idolatry, or have adopted d a lifestyle of atheism.  Hosea 4:7 says that the people of Israel exchanged the glory of God for the shame of idols.  We are the children of God, and we are still responsible for the laws.  The same commandments that were given to Moses apply to us today.  Our land is suffering, because the world has forgotten God.  Most of us have abandoned the ways of our forefathers, and traded them for worldly idolatry.

If we go back to the ways of old, and remember the laws of God he will heal our land.  2 Chronicles 7:14 says “Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways , then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, an d restore their land.” 

God wants to bless us, because we are his children, and he loves us unconditionally.  When was the last time you told God how much he means to you?  No matter what you have done he is waiting for you to come home.  Make a choice today to let Jesus Christ save you.
